IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training in VI ACADEMY
Both the Academic and General Training versions of IELTS are intended for different groups of people. The Academic version of IELTS is intended for undergraduate or postgraduate students applying for a student visa, while the General Training version is intended for general purposes connected with immigration activities.
The General Training version is designed for those who wish to work, train or study in a secondary education, while the Academic edition is intended for higher education students who want to qualify for entry into institutes by proving their English proficiency internationally.
2.IELTS for United Kingdom UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI)
This test is similar to the above-mentioned IELTS test, but it is specifically designed for visa applications with requirements specific to UK countries.
The purpose of this test is to demonstrate a person’s proficiency in the English language to enable them to travel, stay, or live in an English-speaking country.
The Structure & Design of IELTS Exam Malaysia
Listening Test
Listening test: This is the first IELTS Malaysia listening test. After listening several audio recordings, you will be asked to answer questions. Since the audio recordings will be played only once, you must pay close attention! This part has a 30 minute time limit and an additional 10 minute for writing down your answers. The questions in this section are equally important.
Reading Test
What is the difference between reading and writing part of IELTS academic and general training?
You will read a few passages for IELTS academic reading exam. Then, you will answer 40 questions on the basis of these passages. There are many question formats in this section, so your answer can be a short written one or a multiple choice one. This stage will take you about 60 minutes. Each question is the same.
Writing Test
The test is divided into two parts. Each part takes 20 minutes to complete. The first part asks you to write a descriptive essay of 150 words. The second part takes 40 minutes to write a 250 word essay. The second part carries twice the importance of the first, so try your hardest there. This means that your performance in the second part will have a bigger impact on your overall score.
Speaking Test
The speaking assessment is structured as an interview. The test is divided into three parts. In the first part, you will be asked general questions about a common topic. The next part will focus on a specific topic. Before answering more specific questions, address the subject. This section will take about 15 minutes to complete.
