The temptation to jot down the definition of every new word you encounter is constant. You might never see or use the terms again, though, if they are context-specific! Whenever you encounter a new word, start by looking it up in a dictionary. It is only worthwhile to expand your vocabulary if you believe it will be helpful to you in the future.

One excellent method to record new phrases you learn is to have a notebook dedicated solely to vocabulary. With words tailored to your needs, it can turn into a miniature, customized dictionary. Graphic designers and physicists have varied vocabulary requirements since they employ different words. It’s crucial to write down words from the same family in addition to the new words and their definitions. Words from the same family, for instance, would be invest, investor, investing if you wrote down “(financial) investment.” You may improve your vocabulary and identify words in the future by knowing which ones have similar meanings.
